For example, the Grapefruit flavored sparkling ice beverage has an additive known as Isomaltulose on its ingredients list, also known under different names such as Palatinit or Isomalto-oligosaccharide.
Isomaltulose/ Isomalto-oligosaccharide is a sugar substitute that has similarities with the natural fructose sweetener.
Isomaltulose contains 56.1% of carbohydrates in one serving, and if you’re consuming 20 ounces of Sparkling Ice which doesn’t specify Isomaltulose, then it’s safe to say that Isomaltulose isn’t in there.
However, Isomaltulose can be listed as a different name on the ingredients list which means it’s not 100% Isomalto-oligosaccharide.
